What is Cognitive Science?
Cognitive science is the study of how the mind works, functions, and behaves. In order to understand how the brain makes a decision or conducts a mission, cognitive science involves several existing disciplines such as philosophy, neuroscience, or artificial intelligence to be applied as a scientific area of research. Cognitive science aims to explain knowledge and action that can benefit people in many ways, such as creating smarter devices or designing educational programmes.
Faculty of Cognitive Science & Human Development
UNIMAS
The cognitive science course were being offered in University Malaysia Sarawak under Faculty of Cognitive Science & Human Development. It is a course only offered by UNIMAS and not available at other universities. Although not as popular as other courses, for me it is very interesting and a lot of things can be learned through the subjects taught. As one of the cognitive science students at UNIMAS, I am very proud to continue my studies in this course and I am now in year 3. In this courses, we have been given a chance to choose whether to go to hard science or soft science subjects. Most of the students usually choose the soft science subject while other students that interested to study more about coding will choose hard science. The trademark that is always used is “first come, first serve”.
